Narrative transforms the insignificant into the significant

Dan Ariely, one of my favorite authors, writes a short but interesting article about the Significant Objects Project, “an experiment [...] to determine whether you could take an object worth very little and make it worth much more by giving it a story, by endowing it with meaning.” You can read it here.

P.S. To clarify–I am not advocating that you should in any way misrepresent yourself or your accommodations. Rather, I’m suggesting you enrich and improve your approach describing both, giving potential lodgers a closer connection, and a greater reason to choose to stay with you.
