We recently asked all hosts in our community to answer a survey. The core question we wanted them to answer was this: “Do you currently provide and update your rates online, on an ongoing basis, using any site or service?”. The results are quite interesting.
- 21% answered “Yes, my software automatically uploads my rates AND availability to one or more sites”
- 59% answered “Yes, I manually update my rates AND availability in one or more sites”
- 20% answered “No. Travellers have to contact me in order to book.”
Keeping in mind that hosts in LetMeGo represents all types of properties, from vacation rentals to hotels, it is not surprising that the results are so varied. One fifth of hosts have their booking processes fully automated, while another fifth take a very manual approach. In fact, it is likely that the most common answer (“Yes, I manually update my rates AND availability in one or more sites”) contains two subset of hosts: those who allow for immediate online bookings, and those who don’t.
Thanks to your feedback we have started work already in a system that will allow hosts who opt to provide their and rates and availability to do so either manually or automatically (using their existing software). Stay tuned for more details!

Many inquiries of a home rental look at the rates but still will want to bargain during this slow economy. Most just look at the property description and photos and email asking for rates. So posting rates at least gives you a framework for explaining a rate you respond with. Not putting any rate makes people nervous that you'll automatically offer them the highest rate you think you can get so therefore they don't even contact you.
Once we receive a booking we can let you know if availablity is available for that period
Posting rates & availability is a real job, if it can be done auto that would be great…so we look forward to your auto update facility thats coming
