Waterless urinals seem to offer an ecologically sound alternative to traditional urinals. Are you thinking of upgrading your lodging’s facilities? Check out this interesting article from Wired Magazine examining this topic. What do you think?

My opinion is that these things are just like soccer, until the shooters can get their aim right, it will stink.
The idea is very interesting, but I'm also concerned about the smell and how to keep it clean. The concept is very good but I'd like to see it working somewhere else.
Hi Alex,
This water-free urinals already work at restaurants and lunch-outlets along the German Autobahns (highways). About 50% of the urinals are water-free. The places are clean and there is no smell, at least from the urinals. The guys even put a small advertising on top, that lights as soon as somebody is having a piss. Though the ads are in a place, everybody using the urinals will surely see for as long as 30 seconds, there are no commercial placements so far (in 4 years), as the advertisers are afraid of their product being related to piss(ing).
Well, whoever wants to save water, should have a look at these.
Best regards,
Matthias
Great idea. Here in NYC there is advertising on top of urinals all over. Few waterless urinals, though
Wow!, this was a top quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I keep putting it off and never seem to achieve anything
