A few months ago, I asked you to help us select the voice that would narrate the introductory video explaining LetMeGo to lodging staff members. Thanks to your help, we selected a great voice-over talent.
I have come to ask a very similar favor, but this time the stakes are greater: we need to select the voice who will narrate our intro video directed at travelers. This video will be featured on the home page of LetMeGo. Thousands and thousands of people will watch it (well, that’s the plan, at least). The video is designed to convince travelers that LetMeGo is the perfect place for them to find the ideal lodging at the right price.
We have posted a project in Voice123.com, and have received a number of auditions from voice talents there. Would you listen to the best auditions we received, and let us know which voice you like the most? You can simply post the name of the talent(s) you like as a comment to this post.

I’m also of the opinion that, because we used a male voice for the LSM side, it might be a good idea to use a female voice for the traveler side. It ensures that any users who see both videos will have another cue that helps distinguish between the two. Also, it reinforces the idea that we’re not using only one voice throughout the site (a point that might be lost if you use two male voices).

I will comment on what I like and also in what I don’t too:
1. I don’t like any of the British accents in the audition (female and male voices).
2. I don’t like any of the male voices that sound like 60 year-old people, I would expect to hear a young voice from a young company, and none of the participants offered that experience to me. It could turn a little boring for someone who is excited about traveling.
3. From this selection, I liked the female narrations over male, overall.
4. From the original list, I’d say the following can make it to the next round:

After listening to each voice several times, I am certain his voice conveyed a down-to-earth quality and the slight pauses between each sentence allowed the customer time to repeat in his/her mind the procedure to be able to remember it/ or enforce what is read on the website. The British accents were absolutely annoying. The female voices (for me) lacked the warmth of being satisfied with the process and seriousness that booking (as easy as the procedure is) a vacation (as fun as it will be) requires. Walt’s voice produced (for me) the tones of both the newness of the idea of booking this way, but also the stability of a company in which I need confidence because I am choosing them as a medium with which to hand over my precious money. In my humble opinion, the ladies’ voices do not convey the dependability on the LetMeGo company the customer is trying to sense in something they have not yet experienced. Thank you for the opportunity to express my reaction.
