The Cockerr subsystem has reached the beta milestone! The Cockerr subsystem is in charge of managing the human interactions between LetMeGo aMeGoes (our customer service team) and our customers. In other words: the ticketing system.
The Cockerr subsystem has experienced many changes. As I previously blogged about, we originally started using SugarCRM, but then we figured out we wanted a ticketing system instead of a CRM system. As such, we decided to switch to OTRS.
In addition to OTRS, the Cockerr subsystem is now using RingCentral for our phone communications and WebsiteAlive for online chats. Both of them were selected after extensive research. Both of them appear to have a great architecture, are expandable, and are compatible with our future internationalization (i18n) efforts.
The credits of the Cockerr subsystem go to several people. German started working on it more than a year ago. Later on, I continued working on it as German focused on more complex subsystems. Most of the internationalization logic was originally coded by Lucho and German for the Morrison subsystem and Web subsystem, then copied by me into Cockerr. The design, as usual, was done by Maestro. Given that Cockerr is the result of me coding after four years of not having done so, pretty much every member in the team ended up helping me, as I couldn’t stop asking them questions every five minutes. Thank you all!
Alexander Torrenegra
