Nowadays developing a web site without AJAX on it is like building a car without power steering. Many people expect AJAX as a standard feature, even if they have no idea how it works or what it actually means. German did a throughout research to determine which AJAX platform would be the best one for Merrcury. We opted for jQuery. jQuery is mature (when compared to other AJAX platforms) and has a large community around it.
For a few days already, Lucho has been working on tuning up jQuery to our needs. Why Lucho? Lucho is currently working on Sinatrra, the first scope that will VERY heavily use AJAX. By the way, Sinatrra may also end up being the most time-consuming scope to be developed in all fronts: documentation, wireframing, coding, and testing.
Thank you German, thank you Lucho, and, of course, thank you jQuery community!
Alex
